Membership
The Los Angeles City Historical Society depends on contributions from its members to function. LACHS also relies on its members to help provide historical expertise, organize events, prepare its newsletter, and plan many other activities.
Membership dues are collected once annually. The membership year starts on the date the initial dues are received.

Activities
Public lectures, including the annual series of Northrop Lectures (co-sponsored by the History Department of the Los Angeles Public Library), field trips to historic sites, and exclusive tours.
