Bridging Los Angeles
The first event in the 2022 Marie Northrop Lecture Series will be a screening of the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering's documentary "Bridging Los Angeles," along with a post-screening discussion with City Engineer Gary Lee Moore and filmmakers.
The documentary film is about the soon-to-be-completed Sixth Street Viaduct Replacement Project, the largest bridge project in the history of Los Angeles. The film also highlights the history of what have become some of the most iconic engineering monuments in Los Angeles - our bridges. The discussion will touch on issues of preservation and the contributions of these structures to the larger L.A. story.
